Ultimately, to award the full 5 stars, one has to be able to appreciate the rather contrived, Michelin-starred restaurant showmanship. This wasn 't the case for us; we felt uncomfortably scrutinized upon entering the restaurant. Furthermore, the explanations of each course came across as unintentionally comical. As I said, you have to like this setting to fully enjoy the evening. Regarding the ambiance: generally quite pleasant. Only the somewhat tasteless portraits on the walls (e.g., kitschy, brightly colored photographs of tattooed women) or the emblem with the word canned food, which is presumably meant to be a cheeky contrast to the Michelin-starred restaurant vibe, leave something to be desired.
