One word: Fantastic. We ended up at Da Fabio after our two-day trip to Movieworld before driving home (Belgium). At first, the lady seemed a bit grumpy, but that must have just been her appearance, because she was friendly. But then the chef, presumably a true Italian, arrived. Wow! What a presence, what enthusiasm. Fantastic! The pastas were delicious. I had the perfect carbonara, maybe a little more bacon. The other pastas were also perfect. Perfect portions. Highly recommended, especially if you want something relaxing and delicious to satisfy your stomach after two tiring days.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. and got our food (pizza pasta) at 6:40 p.m. It had the charm of a fast-food restaurant. The food was tasty, but nothing exceptional, and the portions were very modest. A tuna and onion pizza for almost €18 should at least fill the dinner plate. There was only one other table occupied. After a total of 30 minutes, we left the restaurant. It's a shame, but we won't be back.
Update: Unfortunately, not only have the prices increased significantly, but the quality has also declined drastically. Instead of herb butter, they serve over-salted margarine, and the bread was burnt. The tortellini is by no means homemade pasta, as the menu states, but a cheap convenience product with a strangely sweet taste. The service is, as always, warm, very friendly, and excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy, so I think this is a real shame. The price/performance ratio is simply no longer there. A real shame. We ate there a few days ago and were absolutely thrilled. Very inviting, cozy restaurant. Subtle background music. What I particularly like: an open kitchen... The welcome was very friendly and warm. The welcome from the kitchen (delicious, homemade herb butter and tasty olives with fresh white bread) whetted our appetite for more. We were not disappointed... Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious, whether salad, pasta, or pizza. We enjoyed delicious food, and the wines were also impressive and served at just the right temperature. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. The prices are extremely fair. We had a wonderful evening at da Fabio and will definitely be back!
