What Jen R doesn't like about Olde Castle:
I was really hoping to love this place— researched online and was excited to dine here. I ordered the seafood platter— expensive at $50 USD but I was hoping worth it. It came with hot and cold seafood— the cold seafood was fine, the hot seafood (finned fish and shrimp) were all over-cooked; dry. read moreNestled near Donegal Castle, this charming pub and restaurant offers a delightful dining experience marked by friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. Although some seafood dishes may vary in quality—with both fresh oysters and overcooked hot options—the overall menu shines with favorites like mussels, fish and chips, and chowder. The selection of local beers complements the meal perfectly. While the ambiance is inviting, a few patrons noted some drawbacks, such as lingering fuel odors and initial service hiccups. Despite these minor issues, guests consistently commend the attentive staff and encourage visitors to embrace the delicious offerings.
Had the dublin sandwich and the fish specially (educated). both were delicious! highly recommended!
