The tomato soup, which was served to us with much fanfare, turned out to be a watery, tasteless shadow of what must once have been a fruitful tomato harvest. It was almost a work of art, if not for the fact that I would have preferred to see this kind of art in the Guggenheim, not in my soup bowl. The salad was then served with the necessary 'extras ' grains of sand, as if they wanted to give me the gift of a holiday at the North Sea. When you make the polite attempt to indicate that you prefer water in a glass rather than in your tomato soup, you are greeted with a fierce and unfriendly response, as if you have personally insulted the restaurant. Service with a smile? Rather service with a grimace. However, the cocoa is drinkable and, admittedly, the onion soup was tasty.
