This is a great local spot to hang out, and I highly recommend it if you're looking to escape the typical chain restaurants. Just keep in mind that it's primarily a bar, so it might not be suitable for kids. While the food isn't exceptional, it's typical for a local dive bar. They offer beer and Pepsi for drinks. The wait staff is super friendly, and the locals are open to chatting with newcomers.
Kate's is a Dodge City institution. Been in business for many years. The original owners sold out, and it was closed for 6 or 7 months. Recently reopened. The food is not exactly like it was, but close enough to still deserve being called Kate's.
I dropped by for a quick lunch and I’ll definitely return. The food was fantastic, the service was quick and friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable. I ordered the bacon mushroom and Swiss burger.

I decided to go with their BLT and onion rings. I would say the BLT was a bit subpar, while the onion rings were good. My waitress was very attentive and smiling and pleasant.
