Reviews - Brown Bear Eatery
Reviews summary
A beloved Devonport café celebrated for outstanding coffee, generous breakfast portions, fresh ingredients and polished presentation. Friendly, attentive staff, a relaxed vibe and convenient parking make it ideal for families, catch-ups and events; the venue also offers reliable catering. Most dishes impress, from eggs Benedict to inventive burgers, though a few items have been reported as overcooked or bland and one guest described poor complaint handling. Overall it's a welcoming, well-priced spot worth repeat visits.

It can get a little noisy, but that just shows how popular this wonderful restaurant is. The food is excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly and enjoys having conversations. It's truly a fantastic spot that you shouldn't miss! Make your way up the hill to Miandetta for an impressive menu bursting with delicious dishes. View all feedback.

I've been here a few times for lunch and also bought a cake for a birthday. This place always exceeds my expectations. Give it a try!
Went down for breakfast yesterday and today and both time's well worth the money. So if you are ever in Devonport look it up stop have breakfast lunch or just get a coffee. Sit back and enjoy.
Recently had our staff Xmas party here and the food was impeccable! The presentation and flavours were just perfect. Highly recommend using Vanessa at the Brown Bear for an event.

I had an outstanding experience with exceptional service and wonderfully fresh, beautifully prepared dishes! I tried the spicy satay chicken burger, and it was absolutely divine, paired with fresh salad ingredients and a creamy, nutty, spicy sauce. The coffee was excellent as well!
A beautiful little hidden gem! Coffee was beautiful, our meals were to die for and the customer service was second to none! Thank you so much Jess, Nic and little Grace
The food was delicious and truly enjoyable. Moreover, the coffee was the best I've had in quite a while. I will definitely be back!

I suppose what was more disappointing is that one of the waitresses asked how it was because I left 95% of my meal on the plate, her reply was “personal preference I suppose” Ouch! There was no apology, nothing to fix the situation and had to pay for a meal that I didn’t hardly touch without an offer of anything else.
