PROS Even though I went in the winter (which was rough) I love the walk-up concept The sandwich I ordered (brioche, egg, sauce, cheddar, bacon, avocado, arugula) was fantastic, highly recommended, would definitely get again Hash browns seem a bit steep at $3.50 but they were great.CONS As other have stated, the breakfast burrito is a bit small. And for having chorizo and jalapeno, it wasn’t very flavorful We did not get our coffee until our order was complete. Waiting outside in the cold, having a warm coffee while waiting would have been nice. It also would have given me time to realize they did not add cream and sugar as ordered.I definitely plan to come back when it is warmer but I can see why this is so popular for locals as they processed many walk-up carryout orders while I was waiting.
Not at all worth what you pay for. By the time you put the add-ons you are paying $7 for a $2 sandwich. McDonald's has a better sausage biscuit. The coffee was terrible. Stay away from this place. For the money walk a bit farther and go to the Ham Shop. Much better food and great prices.
They offer a delicious breakfast burrito that is perfect for a quick meal on the go or before a game. It was very tasty! The only downside is that it is only available for takeout at a pickup window. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant surprise!
Iggy 's is a cute, literal hole in the wall take out counter on a side street in Downtown Detroit. While there is no seating at the restaurant, there are plenty of great seating options at a nice little park just down the block. It felt very safe, withvery nice shops and buildings, and there were lots of people around. They have a fairly standard menu of breakfast sandwichesand other lunch fare. The breakfast sandwich is their specialty You can choose your bread and sandwich toppings, with an extracharge based on the number/type you select. Each is served with jammy (i.e. runny yolk) eggs. I arrived in the late morningand it was still very busy with several people in line and waiting to pick up orders. I opted for the brioche bun with egg, bacon and orange cheddar. The bun was perfectly toasted and the sauce was quite tasty. I was not a huge fan of the egg, as itwas definitely very runny grab extra napkins! The bacon was also very crispy, to the point of being crunchy and semi burnt,so it was not quite to my taste either. Overall, it was a decent breakfast sandwich, which would be excellent with a fewtweaks. It 's fairly pricey, however each is cooked to order in the back with fresh ingredients, so I think it 's justified. Thestaff were not overly friendly, but the food came out piping hot. It 's a very central location, so it 's easy to walk to andgrab a bite on the run. Pro tip: While they sell coffee at Iggy 's, there 's also a great little french Cafe across the street,Canelle, where you can grab an amazing latte and pastry!
Judging by the reviews, I'm going to go ahead and guess that Iggy's was just having a bad day. We arrived a few hours before the first Lions game of the season. There were a good amount of people gathered around the ordering window. It was busy, but notinsanely busy. We placed an order two sandwiches and an order of hashbrowns. Given the crowd, we were quoted with a 20 30minute order time. Annoying, but fine. The sandwiches looked decent in the photos and the reviews here are solid. Fast forwardto an hour and ten minutes later, our name was finally called. When we took the sandwiches out of the bag, one was missing twoof the requested ingredients. Both sandwiches were painfully small and not all that intricate looking. At most, these shouldhave taken 10 minutes to make. It's easy to forgive delays these days with all the staffing issues places are having, but anhour and ten minutes for two breakfast sandwiches that are just slightly bigger than sliders with one that's missing two of thecrucial components really left an awful taste in my mouth. I can safely say there's really no reason to try Iggy's, even ifthey made your sandwich within 3 minutes of ordering. They're fine, but you're not missing anything by going literally anywhereelse.
