Iggy 's is a cute, literally hole in the wall taking counters on a side street in downtown Detroit. While there are no seating in the restaurant, there are many great seating in a beautiful small park right on the block. It felt very safe with very nice shops and buildings, and there were many people around. You have a fairly standard menu with breakfast sandwiches and other lunch fare. The breakfast sandwich is their speciality You can choose your bread and sandwich toppings, with an additional fee based on the number/type you choose. Everyone is served with Jammy (i.e. runny yolk) eggs. I arrived in the late morning and it was still very busy with several people in the line and waited for picking orders. I decided for the Brioche-Back with egg, bacon and orange ochdar. The bungalow was perfectly roasted and the sauce was quite delicious. I was not a big fan of ice, as it was definitely very casual to grab additional napkins! The bacon was also very crispy to be crunchy and half burned, so it wasn't entirely to my taste. Overall, it was a decent breakfast sandwich that would be excellent with some tweaks. It is quite expensive, but everyone is cooked to order in the back with fresh ingredients, so I think it is justified. The staff was not excessively friendly, but the food came out hot. It is a very central location, so it is easy to go and a bite on the run. Pro Tip: While selling coffee at Iggy's, there is also a great small French cafe on the street, Canelle, where you can grab an amazing latte and pastries!
This small, walk-up window shop appears to be well loved in this city based off the number of people waiting outside! The menu seemed extensive with build-your-own sandwiches, pre-set sandwiches, and burgers. Pros: good egg sandwich, friendly workers Cons: a little pricey for what it is The iggycado was good with a good balance of the bitterness of the arugula and the creamy sauce. However, it wasn?t anything too special. Next time, I?d like to try something else just to give them one more
