Description

Chillies Restaurant received mixed reviews, with some diners dissatisfied with the bland and low-quality dishes, as well as slow service. Complaints included frozen vegetables, basic curry sauces, and tough mutton in the biryani. However, some customers enjoyed the authentic and delicious Indian cuisine, such as the Tandoori Mixed Grill and Peshwari naan. Positive feedback highlighted the friendly service and fresh ingredients. Despite varied experiences, Chillies seems to have some loyal patrons who appreciate the flavorful dishes and welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent Peshwari naan. Probably the best I've ever had. Tasty vegetable pathia and the sheek kebab was great. Portions very large so we left a fair bit. Don't overdo the ordering!

I ordered Biryani 3 to 4 times, the first time the taste was good but the next 3 times was not so good. Not sure what is the reason either chef changes or something. I wanted to give feedback but not how they would take it, so posted here. Gave 4 stars because I have tasted only biryani, so I cannot judge based on one item.

The korma was mediocre. I am baffled by the plethora of 5-star reviews. It seems that British people must have a preference for bland food. Indian cuisine should be flavorful, but this dish lacked any taste at all. It had a sickly-sweet flavor that even adding salt couldn't improve. I would prefer the worst Indian food from my hometown in America over this. If you don't enjoy bland food, I suggest looking for another restaurant.

This restaurant was a disappointment. The mutton biryani was the worst I have ever tasted and the chicken curry was just a basic tomato and onion sauce. The mutton pieces were tough and hard to chew. I'm unsure how they can operate as an Indian restaurant with such low quality dishes. Biryani should be filled with a variety of spices like ginger, garlic, coriander, mint, green chillies, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, cumin, nutmeg, star anise, and bay leaves, but I couldn't detect any of these flavors in the dish. It's unfortunate that they are deceiving customers with subpar food. Quality should be the priority, not just making a profit. It's a shame that they are running such an inferior restaurant. Anyone familiar with authentic Indian cuisine would never dine at this establishment.
