What Mark Dimont doesn't like about Alpina:
Lovely people and service. Really enjoyed the location but the food had some issues. Everything had a bitter taste. That said we were taken care of and would try again. View all feedback.
Overall, wouldn’t recommend with everything else on the fork. Came for brunch. Service was incredibly slow. It’s themed as a ski lodge which doesn’t seem to make very much sense for a summer town. It’s SO dark inside, we opted to sit at the little bar by the window to get some sunlight and the stools were so uncomfortable. We had to wave the waiter over to finally order (the waiter was also the host and potentially the chef as well based on how long it took for our food to come out). We saw another couple get up and leave after their water arrived (opting for somewhere else) and wish we had followed their lead. Ordered the omelette and the French toast. Both could have been good but the toast was burned and so was something in the omelette
Nick was AMAZING!Excellent recommendations,Very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Was my first time definitely not the last.Thank you again
Had delicious cocktails and tasty cheese and meat board. Would definitely go again.
Loved this place! Beautiful bar, interesting menu, great food, fantastic drinks and our server Nick was excellent! The Weiner Schnitzel and Duck Pappardelle were outstanding as well as the drink Not Your Grandma 's Limoncello !We will definitely come back!
The transient nature of the Greenport restaurant scene can leave you surprised to find gems like Alpina seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Regardless of where they came from, this crew is a welcome addition with an authentic yet imaginative take on European fare. Will be one of my first stops next time I'm in town… here’s to hoping they last that long.
