Great location, good food and good service. Very busy and lucky to get a table without a reservation. Tricky road access and parking you need a bit of patience! Selection of deep fried small fishes, white asparagus salad, dried octopus and calamari a la plan changed made a good meal for us!
Popped in to have drink and maybe something light sitting on the outside balcony. Stood there for several minutes as staff walked by and ignored us. They were busy and the food may be great but we were unable to try it. The outside balcony was the only spare tables but this appeared closed off. Even a smile and any sort of acknowledgement and we would have waited but eventually just walked out. Probably only interested in locals.
This restaurant continues to impress me, the food is excellent and the Menu del Dia is great value and seems to go on for ever. I can't praise this enough and throughout the meal, you have the view to die for.
Visited without a reservation. Owner was extremely unfriendly though the waiters were ok. We were seated right by the exit as if to make a point even though other Spanish customers came in after us without reservations and were ushered to much nicer tables with a seaview. I had the seafood platter which was around 46eu as I thought that such a regarded seafood restaurant would produce something exceptional. It was fresh of course, but very average. About two tiny prawns, a single cockle plus a few fried white fish and one stringy razor clam. We are unfailingly polite wherever we go and try to use as much Spanish as we can (far from fluent) so I'm not sure where some Denia restaurants get their attitude from. It clearly doesn't matter to them as all the restaurants are busy regardless of their TripAdvisor reviews which Spanish diners presumably take no interest it. Apparently the restaurant has featured on various British TV chef abroad shows. I can only assume it's halcyon days are in the past.
We have a favourite fish restaurant at home in Bristol (qv Spiny Lobster) which is our bench mark against which all others are judged. This lunchtime Sendra raised the bar. From the moment we booked a table in rain that was positively biblical and were asked if we wanted to sit outside the hospitality was amiable but dried Octopus, tiny Hake, mixed fish fried in a light batter that were impossible to identify, a salad full of fresh and pickled products and the most delicious desserts all served with friendly and informative grace led to a food experience that will live long in the memories of the four of us. Thank you all of the team at Sendra for such a memorable experience.
