We stopped here for a light lunch. The location is superb looking out to see and the calamari we had plus mixed salad was beautifully cooked and presented. Not a cheap place but I thought quite reasonably priced
Enjoyed the food and ambience. Make an effort we had to book a week ahead don't just turn up unannounced and demand service like the recent negative reviewers it's a very good and very popular restaurant so won't bother with the whims of the passers by.
Careful! They charge 0,50€ cents per ice cubes on your water (their excuse is that there is a shortage of ice); I buy 5 bags of ice for 2,50€ at the supermarket. They also tried to charge us for the plastic glasses we used for our bottles of water; given our “WTF!” faces they quickly gave up on that one.
Trying to book a table for two in this restaurant 5 days in advanced just to be told by an arrogant waiter that they were fully booked out for the whole week in the evenings and middays. Find that hard to believe with so many excellent restaurants in Denia. Anyway, I visited this restaurant a few years ago and the food was very salty and conventional. The menus on offer are very repetitive and unimaginative. The manager and other staff need to do a charm course. Who would like to come back if the staff shout angrily at you with an attitude of what do you want? , instead of a welcome in gesture.
Their website gives the telephone number 965 78 09 43. I tried from 12th July to phone, four times in all. It came up as 'unable to connect '. So, on Friday 16th, my husband and I took daughter and son-in-law from California to the restaurant, arriving at 7.30. We were immediately asked (in Spanish) by a middle-aged woman whether we had reserved a table. Also speaking Spanish, I explained that we had not but had tried four times to do so. This person, with a most ugly expression, then shook the phone at me (which she was holding) and told me she was using the phone so it worked, didn 't it!! Never in my life have I been treated like this by a person running a restaurant. I was shocked and my guests also took a step back. Then a middle-aged man came striding up to the bar, also shouting that reservations needed to be made. We left. I had been to the restaurant before, having been taken by another. I am so pleased that I had three witnesses or I feel certain I should not be believed. The behaviour was appalling and I shall never return. These people are not equipped personality wise to run a restaurant and it upsets me that anyone goes there.
