We cannot begin to express what is a special place of this hotel and restaurant... Our room has all the comforts of home. Our meal of drinks in the bar with the phenomenal bartender Kevin. He is known and sincere with great recommendations. Our waiter Henry and John were what it was about in customer service. I felt like I came here forever. Our meal was one of the best meals I ever had. Reagan is wonderful as a cook... View all feedback.
What Jan A doesn't like about The Windsor Dining Room:
I have an allergy to mammals and mammal by-products (Alpha Gal Syndrome). The server (Sara) and chef worked very hard to provide me a safe and very tasty dinner. Thank you for the special effort for a special meal View all feedback.
We stayed for just one night on our way to Pagosa Springs, but we really enjoyed this charming, restored historic hotel right on the main street. The beds were comfortable, and the property is well-maintained.
This is an incredible piece of history, beautifully renovated! The service was fantastic, especially during late-night check-in at the front desk. The bartender downstairs managed to serve us a round even after last call. The rooms are charming, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean and elegant. I just wish we had more time to enjoy it all!
We had a fantastic experience at the Windsor Hotel! Traveling with our two young children, we found the rooms to be very spacious and exceptionally clean. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was generously sized as well. Despite being a restored historic building, it didn’t have that old, musty smell or atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable for the area. We initially intended to stay in Durango the following night, but we loved it so much that we decided to drive back to Del Norte instead. We arrived late on both nights, but the staff was incredibly accommodating. I wholeheartedly recommend it—10/10!
We only ate in the dining room . Didn't need to stay in hotel, even though it is really nice.
During our whirlwind vacation of Colorado, we needed somewhere to stay on our travels after the Durango-Silverton train excursion heading to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. It is a longish 2 hour drive to Del Norte, but it was absolutely beautiful and treasure falls is a must stop. I wouldn 't recommend the drive at night. Anyways, the hotel staff was very gracious confirming our late arrival. Parking was just outside the hotel. The room and bath room were nice sized and clean. THE NEXT LEVEL With adrenaline still coursing through our veins from the drive, we hit the bar Bistro Barbara . While fairly subdued with patrons, we cozied up to the bar. Seconds later, the bartender welcomed us for our order. Glancing around I notice the other patrons had clear drinks with a slice of lime. For simplicity I stated I 'll just have what they are having, leaving it open to either a vodka or gin tonic. The bartender pressed Are you a gin guy or vodka? Well I am a gin guy. This started one of the best bar experiences I 've had. Everyone at the bar started discussing the nuances of the flavors in gin, even if they disliked gin. This lead to conversations about different spirits and liquors. For my next drink order, I challenged the bartender to demonstrate his creativity knowledge of flavors. With his back to me he began to create a mystery concoction. Yummers..... Conversations continued deciphering the cocktails ingredients which was now being ordered by the rest of the bar. What a great way to wind down the day. TRAVEL SUGGESTION Make a day of it at Del Norte. Well at least an afternoon and evening. There are lots of unique stores and restaurants. The hotel 's dining was reserved for events so we didn 't get a chance to eat there. But over heard other people saying it was delicious. If there is such a thing as the Colorado Spirit Trail make sure Del Norte and the 1874 distillery is a stop with a stay at the Windsor. In fact the selection and knowledge at this bar is good enough, the Windsor is a Stop Stay with some tasting flights of which ever spirit of your choice. Very reasonable pricing in today 's mad world. Cheers! and yeah GO Tigers!
