Contribute FeedbackThe Glynne Arms received mixed reviews from customers, with some criticizing the dark ambiance and slow service while others praised the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. Despite complaints about long wait times and lackluster service, some diners appreciated the attentive staff and tasty menu offerings. The restaurant was described as expensive but worth it for the quality of food and overall experience. While some had issues with the food and service, others found the pub/restaurant to be beautifully decorated and dog-friendly, with excellent Sunday roast and desserts. The Glynne Arms seems to have its ups and downs, with varying opinions on the overall dining experience.
The pork bell of my wife, garlic potato, savoyen kratzer was a nice dish. the black and the cracks were on the square and the dauphinoise-like kartoffel was delightful – a good hit garlic without being too creamy.
I agree with the other comments regarding the customer service, it was very slow and the staff weren’t very attentive. The roast was nice but not the best, very thin gravy, just boiled veggie and the roasties tasted a bit stale. The beef and yorkshires were lovely however. The starters and dessert were nice (although we had to wait nearly 40 minutes for the dessert). Not sure I’ll be back for a roast anytime soon but I’d love to try dinner one evening!
The biweekly quiz night as Sundays at 7 PM. George is hilarious and the questions are a great mix of tricky and hilarious. A wonderful evening out with good drinks and warm and welcoming hosts!
The staff team on today were incredible. Had two young guys look after us, who were both obliging, professional, timely, and had characters. Great food for us all, Good variety on the menu, seasonal and veggie options, cheese lovers options and the broad options of carnivorous fayre.. Plenty of ale options and shorts. Comfortable and most importantly, dogs are welcome. Will definitely visit again.
Fabulous welcome and service from George lovely lad, thank you ! Good beer selection, lovely tasties from the snack menu.
