I am a super big fan of Cactus Jacks! I keep coming back every time I crave for some good old authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere, and live music! You are... read more I am a super big fan of Cactus Jacks! I keep coming back every time I crave for some good old authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere, and live music! You are greeted by a friendly staff, who will accommodate you even if the place is packed. We came on a Thursday night, where they have their live band playing rock music after 8pm. Once they take your orders, you are served with a complimentary basket of nachos and home made salsa. Can't express enough how addictive it is, but try to hold yourself and don't finish the whole thing. Tip: they can top it up for you :P For the main course, we ordered the following: Taco Mexicano Grilled chipotle beef strips wrapped in three flour tortillas with cheese, lettuce, Picode Gallo, cassava fritos and ranchero served with Frijoles de Olla, Mexican rice, guacamole and salsa picante. Jambalaya Louisiana creole speciality. A combination of sautéed chicken, beef chorizo and vegetables simmered in chicken broth with rice and prawn skewer. Both were super amazing, perfectly cooked, and just the right seasoning and spices. Prices are slightly upscale, but it's worth it, as the portions are big, and the quality is excellent. This place is vintage (opened in 2002), and is the right place for having fun, drinks with friends, and a good meal.
