I recently visited the new Screen Door Café in Dayton and I am happy to say I give it 5 stars! Our party of eight received excellent and attentive service without feeling smothered. The lamb dish was delicious and portion sizes were very generous, leaving leftovers for my son's lunch the next day. Other dishes ordered at the table included pork chop, pasta, fried shrimp, and a grilled cheese, all of which received po... View all feedback.
What Richard H doesn't like about Screen Door Kitchen:
I ordered the fried fish with cayenne pepper, hush puppies, coleslaw, and collard greens. The hush puppies were burnt beyond recognition, the fish was overcooked and had no seasoning, not even cayenne pepper. The collard greens seemed to have turned into a salty mixture of green beans and potatoes. I was very disappointed with my meal. View all feedback.
The service was fantastic and the restaurant is beautiful but the food we had was not good. Our crab puppies were burnt, my daughters hamburger was overcooked and my sons shrimp was rubbery. Definitely not worth the $70. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our server (I didn't catch his name-but he deserves a raise for sure lol was amazing from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. He was so friendly and I have an autistic daughter who gets overly nervous in some situations but this place was calm and our server kept cutting up with her which was nice even though we were awkward lol this place is definitely something to check out and the meals will fill you up! P.s . The chocolate cake was delicious . Dietary restrictions: I am diabetic and they made it easy to read the menu on dietary restrictions and gave a clear list of ingredients. They have options for all different restrictions. Parking: Wide spacious lot plenty of parking

The food is very good! We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. The burger was very good, and the Brussel sprouts were excellent. We will be back again. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
