Description
Nestled in rural Tennessee, this family-run restaurant offers a warm, vibrant atmosphere, attentive service, generous portions and an ambitious menu — shrimp & grits, fried chicken, salmon, burgers and notable desserts plus excellent French‑press coffee. Many praise the staff and characterful setting, though food execution can be inconsistent (over/undercooked or occasionally burnt) and patrons have reported pest/cleanliness issues in warm months. Huge portions. Ambitious menu with a lot of variety. The small roasted vegetable salad was enough for 2 people as a starter. Highly recommend it. My mom loved her chicken Parmesan and I really enjoyed the meatloaf. I cook with less salt but that is likely just personal preference. We took so much home that it made two more meals for us both. This is partly because we wanted to also have dessert. The peanut butter pie was a new thing for me-I really liked it but can 't compare it to others. My mom 's cheesecake was really pretty good, maybe not among the best . You might note that she ate it all! Service was by young very competent people, ambiance is family-operated cool old house. This place lived up to its Yelp reputation and I am very glad we went.
Excellent food and even better service. The meal was unique and prepared fresh. Our waitress was very fun and informative
Imagine this. In a small town, playing little league football, not wanting fast food, and a friend says try this place out. A minute drive from the field and we pull up to a beautiful Victorian style house. We walk in and are immediately greeted with a smile and seated. The restaurant is immaculate and the menu was above and beyond. We started off with soul rolls which was a spring roll filled with BBQ and collards alongside a pimento cheese, bread and pickle app. The best pimento cheese I 've ever tasted and both were home made. Two of us got catfish plates, my wife got shrimp linguini, my youngest got a pulled pork sandwich, and I had Mrs. Perrywinkle Cajun chicken sandwich. From start to finish this was an incredible meal. Mac cheese and homemade potato salad complimented the entrees and the portions were huge. Great food!! This isn 't a next time in town stop, this is I 'm going to make the trip here just to eat stop. If you 're close, stop in and give it a try.
