TLDR Overall was pretty good Food The house made chips were delicious, but the tortilla chips were stale and the salsa was from a jar (I'd guess Pace). The burger was great and so were the fries (especially how they were swirled). Service Service was a little slow for how empty it was and compared to how other tables were being served. Every other aspect of service was good though. Atmosphere I'd say the overall atmo... View all feedback.
What Lilya Kurdi doesn't like about Monkey Town Brewing Dayton:
Our first time it was not very pleasant ,bunch dust all over the place that wont help people with allergies and sensitive skin, server was getting smart with us when we told her we didnt like our potato chips they were old stale and would not break couldn't even chew it ! View all feedback.
Only brewery in Dayton and is a good one. Lots of selections and even had a watermelon seltzer for the wife on tap. Food is always good. Try the catfish, a slab almost as long as your forearm. I bit more breading for my taste, but some folks like that. Service was awesome too.
Really neat place! Good food, and pretty good beer! A definite stop if you are in the area!
We came in on July 8th around 6:00 pm. Check#146 at table 45. We were sat promptly by the host and given menus. That was the last interaction we had with anyone for around 20 minutes. We finally spoke to our waitress Courtney and she took our drink order. She brought us our drinks relatively quickly. That was the last interaction we had with her for another 25 or so minutes. After multiple times of her walking past our table and making direct eye contact we had enough. She comes back to ask if we would like our empty drinks refilled. Never a mention of asking if we actually wanted to order food. We asked for our check. A presumed manager did touch our table after this ordeal and apologized. We’ve always enjoyed the food here. The beer menu is never updated though, and you’re almost always out of something. It’s disappointing, this place would be so much better if your wait staff could pay attention to more than one table at a time. Spent almost an hour of my evening here and it was a not a good experience. I want to like this place and come back but your speed of service is always hit or miss.
Nice restaurant Great service friendly people Very diverse menu …something for everyone Sandwich’s we’re all good Great corn nuggets Nice selection of beers Tables to accommodate large groups Games for kids to play
TL/DR: Great people, outstanding food, and superb beer. Scored a rare “10” for the fries. We stopped in at lunch. I ordered a ham and cheese on a croissant and my wife had a burger and corn nuggets ? I think they were called. I had a flight of 10 beers they have on tap. All of the beer sold here is their own, nothing bought and relabeled. First, the beer: I asked for the flight to sample any IPAs and expand from that. There were a few IPAs and all of them good to great. One, “Boots” is very similar to my favorite beer made by Flying Dog. It’s not available here which is no longer an issue. Boots is an exceptional beer. I’m glad to have found this as it’s now my “go to.” The rest ran the gamut to include very dark, coffee forward beer. The range available will certainly satisfy most if not all. The food: I expected my ham and cheese to be made with thin sliced ham. To my surprise, it was a thick dinner like slice. The sandwich was outstanding. You could taste the ham but it was not too much. The fries scored a rare 10. These are not fast food fries. They are also not your chain restaurant steak fries. They are thick and curly. The outside is crispy and hold their shape, unlike regular steak fries. The inside is an almost creamy potato cooked perfectly and hot throughout. Getting the outside crispy and the thick inside so perfect is an accomplishment. Taste, heat, salt, all to perfection. The people were great. Friendly, and home style environment. Our Pepsi glasses never ran out. And, dispute two dinners, a flight of 10 beers, and a growler with beer, the price was shockingly low for what I was expecting. This was the best dining experience I’ve had in Dayton.
