What User doesn't like about The Smokehouse At Blackwater Falls:
My wife and I tried the breakfast buffet during our recent stay at the lodge. The price was reasonable and our waitress provided excellent service. However, the food was disappointing. The cold items were decent, but the hot items were bland. The scrambled eggs and potatoes were especially bad. The waffles and pancakes were lukewarm. There were also not enough serving spoons, so the gravy and potatoes stuck together... View all feedback.

I had the Smoked Trout with a Squash Medley and baked potato. Delicious with beautiful views. Just reopened so there was a limited menu. I am sure they will work the kinks out. My husband also liked the brisket. 4.5 stars rounded up.
My family of nine had been traveling all day and we were excited to have dinner at the Smokehouse Grill, the only restaurant in the state park lodge. We arrived at 6 PM and had to wait 45 minutes for a table, which was fine. However, when it was our turn, we were told we could only order pizza because there were nine of us. It was already 7 PM and all other restaurants outside the park were closed. Customers who arrived after us were able to order from the regular menu. We felt treated unfairly, like second-class citizens, and a burden to the server. The breakfast the next morning was even worse. They only had turkey bacon, which tasted terrible, and the eggs were overcooked on one half and burned on the other. The morning server was friendly and apologized for the poor service. She was the only highlight of our experience at this restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I ordered a deluxe pulled pork sandwich, but the pork was not as tender as I had hoped and lacked flavor, aside from the tang of the grill sauce. The brisket added to the sandwich was unnecessary and chewy. My companion tried the steak, which was also disappointing. The only highlight of the meal was the salad. Our group was unsatisfied with their meals as well. There are better restaurants nearby that are worth trying instead.
Great view, nice staff. But, as expected for a remote location with no competition, mediocre food quality to price ratio.
