With so many good places to eat in this area I would pass on this one. Beer is flat and food is bad. Service was very bad as well.

Meal Quality: You gotta start it up with ordering a draft of Canaan Valley's finest brews by Blackwater Brewing! I personally go for the Kolsch or the porter. The brew sampler is quite good. The seasonal brews are quite nice too! I ordered some of their black truffle tater tots and their deep fried cauliflower for appetizers for our table. Whoa man those were incredibly delicious! I then ordered a veggie burger as the main entree and it was tasty, had the right amount of moistness, and flavored well. Call me addicted, but I went back to the well for more of those truffle tater tots for dessert afterwards! They also have a good kids menu for those with children. Service: Was quite good and received service with a smile : Many of their food offerings are made from scratch so one has to keep in mind that service will not be extremely quick. Order up a Blackwater Brewery cold ones to pass the time. More than likely, you're visiting there and why worry about being in a hurry while on a vacation. It's good to relax and one cant expect to be served as fast as restaurants in a city when you're certainly not in a city lol Aesthetic Appeal Atmosphere: Nice and inviting with an open floor plan. The server was nice. Unfortunately the food is very bad. They had no salad, or soup despite being on the menu. Maybe because we were there on a Wednesday. Chicken wings undercooked as were the fries. Beer batter fish ok. Breaded cauliflower ok but cold and serving size small for the price. The trout was expensive but ok, served with bland rice and overcooked veggies. The sweet potato fries had way too much brown sugar piled on top and that made them unedible. We won't be back.

Lots of good beer on tap. It was also kid friendly with a great kids menu. Service was slow which was frustrating but the food was good. You can tell they make everything from scratch there. The fries were hand cut and chicken tenders were hand battered which impressed me. The truffle tots were tasty!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and I always appreciate a variety of local taps. The variety of food too was pretty good. I like to support any local business, so I wish them well and hope they continue to improve. My chief complaint is just that some of the dishes weren't good. I know that's really vague, but it's accurate. We had a party of 10 and so we got a good sampling of all of the foods from the menu. Mostly, we agreed that everything we got was pretty bland and flavorless. Not everything came as described too. The nachos, for instance, was supposed to have shredded cheese, creme fraische (spelling? , and chili. Instead it came with black bean salsa over chips with beer cheese on the side (burnt and really bitter beer cheese . The black bean burger was burnt so much it was crunchy. Also our waitress had only our table but we saw her only one time between dropping off our food and bringing the check. I'm being negative on them but I'm still giving 4 stars because we came in near close and everyone can have one bad night. Like I said, I appreciate the image they are cultivating and I wish them well but we caught their food on a bad night for sure.
