A&w Canada - Davidson
A&w Canada
Description
Set along the highway between Saskatoon and Regina, this fast-food spot offers well-priced burgers and hearty poutine in a clean, well-maintained dining room with ample parking. Patrons praise a standout Buddy Burger and solid poutine, but experiences vary: service can be slow or curt, opening times unreliable, and items sometimes arrive cold or incorrect. It’s a convenient roadside stop with good value when running smoothly, but expect inconsistent food quality and service.

Another Canadian specialty is poutine, which I have yet to see in the U.S. Their poutine is a solid offering, loaded with toppings, but, as another reviewer mentioned, the cheese curds were cold. The staff didn’t seem particularly happy to see us. At first, I thought it might be an anti-Alaskan sentiment, but then I remembered we were in Saskatchewan, not the Yukon—so that animosity doesn’t reach this far east. On a positive note, the dining area was nice and very clean, as were the restrooms, and there was plenty of parking available.
During our road trip, we decided to stop and try the Sausage Egger. For a fast food breakfast sandwich, it was quite delicious. It featured a standard burger bun, flavorful sausage, real egg, and cheese, all without being greasy. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised since I didn't expect much, but I would definitely order it again!
