What Wobbly72 doesn't like about Bowan Chinese Takeaway:
I used to highly recommend Bowan in the past for their tasty, hot, and fresh food. However, my recent experience has deterred me from returning. The chicken satay skewers were strange and the pancake rolls were terrible - the pancake was undercooked on the inside but very crispy on the outside. The food was tasty, although the sweet and acidic dish had something too much sauce. it only took a little more substance to sauce and it would have been perfect. the Chinese pork was excellent, as was the young lady at the reception, which was friendly and helpful.
For the last few years there was another chef and eating was not the best, but the original chef is back and bowan is the best Chinese food in the city again!
In my mind best chinese takeaway in Daventry town centre. Only place I will go to if given the choice.
The restaurant has changed ownership. The food was delicious and the service was very quick. I was very impressed with the overall quality and would definitely return.
For the last couple years, the chef had changed, and the quality took a bit of a dive...but recently, the original chef came back, and it is once again the best chinese in Daventry. Glad to have you back finally!
