I get this Indian every time I land back in Australia (So every couple of weeks). I use deliverroo to get it to my house and it always arrives within an hot hot and fresh. One of the winning factors is the quality of the chicken in the curries which I struggle to find in Sydney. The vego entrees are also amazing especially the cheese bricks slow cooked in spices. The naan bread is possibly the let down however I know... View all feedback.
What Abby Schowalter doesn't like about The Colonial:
These youngsters have captured our hearts. The Indian food was excellent and the service was great. Lana, the restaurant host, went above and beyond to make us feel special. The chefs were fantastic! Overall, one of the best dining experiences in Sydney. They truly made our day special! Can't wait to visit the restaurant again! View all feedback.
Only so you know, we rode that we between the colonial 3.5 or a 4 ... and I will explain why. We were kindly invited to the colonial so that our score / rating will not contain PricePoints, as we did not pay for our meal. Grief I'm crazy about 2 crosses, Indians and Middle East. I love the spices, I love the taste, I can not stand the heat, but I'll go back. I think I'm pretty sure in my ruling of Indian food. Grief The colonial is more of an Indian fusion, Indians with modern take. I had a Tamarind Martini and it was a bomb, a very unique and beautiful taste with one kick. Chicken Tandoori salad was beautiful (the chicken was so tender and flavesome), I loved the Paneer Spring Rolls !! Such a great idea. Oh, and not to forget the watermelon and feta salad ... that was a very interesting and bizarre dish. No typical Indian dish, but pretty refreshing. Grief Unfortunately, I was not a dessert dessert and I love desserts, I often had Kulfi, but it is ... read more
The colonial offers a British Indian restaurant with some unique and refreshing combinations. Grief Grief I was surprised to see a selection of salads on the menu including watermelon and feta, green salad with chicken and a chicken tikka salad. These were all light and fresh. Grief Grief For web we had a duck-masala, salmon dildar and a vegetarian curry with rice. The dishes really needed a Naanbrot to accommodate the aromas in the sauce. Make sure you try the Paneer Spring Roles here - they were our choice of the night. Grief Grief If you are still hungry, some of your desserts, we recommend the pistachio ice cream
A little worrying when you walk in for your 8pm booking on a Thursday night and you're the only people in the restaurant but we continued on and were
