Disappointed by "The Forest" - the vegetables seem to be fried, which was unexpectedly, which was unexpected and made an unpleasant greasy taste. The pickled eggplant was missing and the "pickled" carrot, which had given some relief from the oil, was only bands of the fresh carrot. The dining partner has not impressed with her court. The server asked how everything was and when I said it was disappointing, she just said, "Sorry to hear that" and my money took ... at least the coffee was good. We will not be back.
?????????? @shenkincafe ?????????? ???? Tamar pancakes: vanilla cream, date molasses, strawberries and banana ???? Grief * New menu item * The team behind Shenkin (Erkineville, Enmore, Surry Hills) have added some new articles to your breakfast menu - installed some pretty for this sweet tooth out there. A double stack really lightweight and fluffy pancakes with beautiful simple cream and a nice date molasses, which is sticky and sweet without being sick. It is a really nice change from the usual maple. In any case, a mention in the best pancake lists value ????
Good taste and different choice of menu, I love the wraps and also baked sausage in hot plate. Located in a convenient place, reasonable price, reasonable price !! Will come again!
The food was fantastic! The falafel burger was incredible, and the staff was very friendly. The omelette and eggs Florentine were also delicious. The location and ambiance were great as well.
Say no to the average bacon and eggs for brunch and say yes to Middle Eastern fare think haloumi, falafel, hummus, shakshuka, malawach etc. Shenkin's extensive menu consists of many enticing dishes, which also still contains classics such as eggs benedict, omelettes and pancakes, will no doubt leave you confused with what to order.<br/ <br/ After some deliberation, we settled with the chorizo shakshuka and the eggplant and haloumi one. The shakshuka pans arrive at the table filled to the top. The servings are very generous, with each accompanied by 2 homemade pita breads. The sauce is full of flavour, with chunks of capsicum, tomato and eggplant. I loved dipping the pita into the sauce and scooping out the vegetables.<br/ <br/ Minor issues, which are just personal preference: the haloumi in the sauce would have been better, if they were grilled and just simply placed on top of the sauce. And the chorizo shakshuka consisted of pieces of chorizo slices, which I would have preferred if it was crumbled up chorizo sausage meat. Overall, the shakshukas are homely, great tasting and satisfying to eat; perfect for a lazy Sunday.<br/ <br/ At $19 each, $16.50 for original), the price is a little higher than some other places that serve shakshuka, with most hovering around the $16 to $17 mark. However, the servings are much more plentiful, so an extra couple dollars can be seen as not a big deal.<br/ <br/ Great place for breakfast or lunch, with currently 4 locations to choose from.
