Was Rebeka Kolár at Playa Takeria a mag?
I actually tried this restaurant because the place I was originally trying to visit was completely fully booked for the night, and thankfully I was very pleasantly surprised! Tacos were genuinely some of the best I've eaten and the veggie nachos were huge and very tasty. Spicy margarita was good, but not the best in Sydney. Service was friendly but it seemed like the woman's first ever day as a waitress, although I'm... View all feedback.
What Rosita Heinze dislikes about Playa Takeria:
Horrible food: stale corn chips, stringy and dry meat, bland guacamole, boring salsa (only onion and unripe tomato bits). This was really the most tasteless and uncreative meal I've ever had. I am appalled that these cretins can pretend to serve the best Mexican in Sydney and charge so much for it. There was just no flavour - no lime, coriander or chilli. The corn chips were like cardboard - stale, bendy, chewy and s... View all feedback.
Some of the best and most authentic Mexican food in Sydney, though be warned their service and space may turn off some. We started off with Playa Guacamole
Just popped my Cinco De Mayo cherry, and now I wonder why I held out for so long.
What a great time we had here celebrating Mexicos "Cinco de Mayo"!! Marauchi band, sombreros, margaritas and tacos.
The place is tiny as are the rables. We sat outside on a fresh May night as the music was too loud inside. We both had burritos which were huge. Despite the request for mine to be spicy it was not. Had to ask for sauces and the hot sauce was good and hot.The wine was overpriced. All up over $60 for two burritos, guacomale entree and two drinks which was reasonable but could do better. Mad Mex equivalent.

Tacos were genuinely some of the best I've eaten and the veggie nachos were huge and very tasty. Spicy margarita was good, but not the best in Sydney. Service was friendly but it seemed like the woman's first ever day as a waitress, although I'm fairly sure it wasn't! Although the food was good, I am surprised at the other reviews on TripAdvisor, and I admit, it will make me think twice before revisiting, purely because it isn't terribly cheap and it sounds like plenty of others have had bad experiences. But give it a go and see for yourself!
