Menu

Phamish restaurant has garnered a mix of positive and negative reviews. While some diners praised the delicious food, fast service, and casual atmosphere, others were disappointed by the rushed service and high prices. Common complaints include feeling pressured to leave before finishing their meals and the restaurant not honoring the two-hour sitting policy. However, many patrons enjoyed the fresh ingredients, tasty sauces, and BYOW option. Overall, Phamish seems to be a popular spot for locals looking for a quick bite or pre-show meal, but may not be the best choice for a leisurely dining experience.

If nosh matters and late night as well than it fits the criteria for Phamish. Its hip and with a cuisine that’s light, fresh and very tasty. Asian melange in copious bowls and quick attentive service. We have never missed out getting a seat as...turnover is quick. Great for theatres nearby. View all feedback.
What Xavier Guillou dislikes about Phamish:
I was recommended the Vietnamese curry. Everyone in the place seemed to be eating it, so thought it would be great. The upside is that they were very generous with the chicken, loads of it, but other than that it was quite ordinary. It has massive pieces of potato and sweet potato, why? You eat it with rice - carb overload.
Something else I found odd was that they make you walk up to the counter to place your order.... View all feedback.
The dining experience at Phamish is always a delight. We ordered the special Scallop Knödel and Beef Curry, both of which were incredibly delicious. It is now possible to make reservations for either indoor or outdoor seating.
I recently dined at a Vietnamese restaurant with friends who had never tried the cuisine before, and it was a fantastic choice. I recommend booking a table in advance as it is a popular spot, but the staff were still attentive. The service was quick, so don't expect a long meal as they turnover tables efficiently. The standout dish was the crispy skinned chicken, but everything else we tried was also delicious. I suggest trying something new on the menu as there is a good chance you will enjoy it. Overall, a great dining experience for those looking to explore Vietnamese cuisine.
The food was tasty and the service was good until the end. I made a reservation the previous night, but we were asked to leave as soon as we finished eating, which was within an hour. We had to rush our meal. I would have understood if there were people waiting or if all the tables were full, but it seemed unjust since there were others who were there longer and had finished eating. I have noticed that this is a recurring issue here. The restaurant manager's behavior was very strange, and because of this, I do not plan to return.
This is an excellent Vietnamese restaurant, one of the best in Sydney. The food is made with high-quality ingredients. **Banh Xeo Rice Paper Roll (Duck or Chicken): 5/5 stars** I’ve tried both the duck and chicken, and both were fantastic. If you prefer lean meat, go for the chicken. The duck can sometimes be a bit fatty, which varies from visit to visit, while other times it's lean and delicious. Personally, I prefer the leaner option. The Banh Xeo is tasty, and I love the fresh herbs—it’s also easy to eat and hold. The portions are generous. My only complaints are that occasionally the duck can be too fatty, and sometimes the Banh Xeo can be a bit greasy, which leads to some inconsistency. However, when they prepare it right, this dish is heavenly—so balanced and delicious! **Lemongrass Chicken: 5/5 stars** This dish offers a perfect balance of flavors with lean meat. It pairs nicely with rice or vermicelli noodles, though those need to be ordered as a side since they don't come with the dish. The tomatoes in this dish are juicy and flavorful, and the fragrance is delightful. Another generous portion! **Beef La Lot (Grilled Beef in Betel Leaves): 5/5 stars** This dish features a great sauce and fantastic flavor, with a lovely grilled taste. It is a bit pricey since the portion is small, but I always make sure to order it. **Vegetarian Curry: 5/5 stars** The curry is packed with high-quality vegetables and offers a huge portion. I particularly love the exotic mushrooms and sweet potato in it. It’s delicious and so healthy—hands down the best vegetarian curry I’ve ever had! **Chicken Vermicelli Noodle with Lettuce: 5/5 stars** This dish is healthy, fresh, and delicious. The flavors are on the mild side, but I enjoy it because it tastes light and wholesome. **Bo Luc Lot (Beef Cubes in Salad): 1/5 stars** Unfortunately, this dish was a letdown. There was way too much sauce, making it virtually inedible. The sauce, meant to be a dressing, overpowered everything and turned the dish into a soup; I found it disappointing and also too sweet. **Service:** The staff is very friendly and attentive, which enhances the dining experience. **Delivery:** I use Deliveroo for my orders. Delivery to my area near World Square/Town Hall Station can take a long time, so I usually place my order an hour before I plan to eat. The food often arrives cold, so I need to microwave it, but that's not the restaurant's fault. The food is so delicious that I keep ordering it despite the slow delivery—just plan ahead! **Cons:** They don’t offer pho here, which is disappointing for a Vietnamese restaurant. The location is also a bit far from the CBD, making it a long walk for me. Additionally, the prices are on the higher side.
I want to give them 4.5 but why skimp on 0.5, they never skimp on flavour!! Phamish is modern vietnamese and they do it well. One I would recommend to friends, I've rarely been disappointed by anything I've ordered.
