I was really looking forward to my dining experience, Bar Brose was recommended to me by a colleague. I booked well in advance for an early Friday dinner (6.30pm) on the 24th of March, however was seated in the front bar area. we opted for the feast, however had no idea what we were getting which I was ok with as it added to uniqueness, but it all went downhill from there. food was presented terribly and not explained to us. everything was tasty but it was spoit by the plating. the raw fish was rough off-cuts, not attractive garnish, the late night sandwich was just a flat full sandwich, not cut up, just slapped flat on the plate. the beef looked like vomit but again once I flipped it over to the cooked side and fixed it up a little, I was able to get my friend to even contemplate to try it. the staff were friendly, but it was almost like the restaurant prided itself on the 'I don't care' attitude in presentation and explaining the menu that when dessert was served I was told that it was the last item. so I don't know if we were meant to have 4, 5 , 6 or 8 items to share. I really felt I was served whatever they wanted on the night I got the leftovers. really sad about this as it was recommended to me and I chose a visit from a dear old friend special get together as an excuse to try Bar Brose. perhaps the usual chef was off that night?
On Saturday, 19th august we visited the restaurant etelek. we were very disappointed for several reasons: 1. the table and the chairs were very uncomfortable to sit. 2. the music was very burdensome and we couldn't hear what made our. experience very frustrating. 3. eating was less than delicious, less than average and not justified the amount of money we spent. (we have paid $300 for 4 people and had only 2 alcohol drinks between us four) 4. the restaurant advertised as Hungarian, as Hungarian itself, eating did not even remind me of my roots. it is very surprising that the pop-up restaurant is so high rated. we will certainly have our first and last experience there.
