The Breakaway catered our family gathering, and everyone was extremely pleased with both the food and the service. We enjoyed chicken and eggplant Parmesan, chicken ziti with broccoli Alfredo, boneless BBQ wings, and salads. They provided excellent care throughout the entire process! Each time I've visited, the restaurant has been quite empty. Overall, it's an average venue, but there are many other places to enjoy live music where the staff is much friendlier and without any attitude. I wouldn't return simply to steer clear of the staff, especially Kevin. View all feedback.

I attended a fundraiser at this restaurant and had a disappointing experience. While the staff was fantastic, the food was good, the drinks were strong, and the comedians were great, there was a significant issue. Unfortunately, I was seated near the bar where the bartenders were extremely loud, and patrons at the bar engaged in constant chatter. It was incredibly distracting. Seriously, it made it hard to enjoy the evening.

Great pizza, mozzarella sticks, and wings. We will def be back and look forward to some live entertainment there.
Top fave pizza in the North shore. Easy eatability in the best way, a light red sauce and fluffy crust. They own another spot in Malden haven't been so can't compare. Pizza is by far my most favorite type of food so one could say I'm not easily pleased, but Breakaway holds it down. We got a cheese and a veggie it easily fed five of us. Nice light lunch makes for a nice family afternoon. Good job Breakaway 5 stars for you people.

Went for Mother’s Day brunch with 17 people. Small issue with the table being set for too few people initially but it was quickly resolved and the manager offered compensation for the inconvenience. Food was good with great variety of options. Our server John was excellent! Room for improvement in the layout for these large events but overall a very good and we will definitely be back next year.
I attended my 30-year high school reunion at Breakaway last night (9/30), and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. Calling it a "great" place doesn't even do it justice. Joe runs an outstanding operation here. I took a stroll through the entire venue, from the Barn to the central room and up to the second floor, and the atmosphere was vibrant and lively. I highly recommend hosting your next event at Breakaway—I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon!
Place has amazing food a terrace for a great out door experience. has a fireplace and live band singing on the terrace thank God for Nordufer eats for the recommendation of this place and the drinks are amazing, we again very soon!!!!
The whole mood of this place is on site. Great food, great service and great entertainment under 1 roof! Not many places like these... especially in the North Shore. That's what this area needed!
I usually don't dig on brunch buffets, due to the fact that sometimes the food gets overlooked and dried out in the chafing dishes and gets gross. This is NOT the case here. All the food was excellent, the **** Mary was great (perfectly spiced!! , and Brenda and the rest of the staff were super friendly and awesome!! Will definitely be back when I get another Sunday off!! I'm a bartender, server, and pastry chef and came here with another chef. We both left uncomfortable because we couldn't contain ourselves and wanted to try everything.
