After waiting 20 minutes without be... read more After a lot of great experiences at the old colliery it soon became our family’s favourite place to eat! Until last night!!! After waiting 20 minutes without being approached for drinks my partner ordered them at the bar. After waiting yet another 45 minutes, our food arrived only to be given a wrong meal and food items missing from other plates. So we got all of that sorted to then finally sit down to our meals to find hairs in my coleslaw!! Yet another complaint and they couldn’t accept the fact there was hairs on the food and I was lying!! By this point I had 3 very upset, hungry kids and my anxiety was through the roof!!! I was so upset I just wanted out the place! Really, really disappointed after our experience last night

No sign for either car park or entrance. Have to say that the food was excellent. Some food that I had not seen on other menus. Unfortunately service was poor in that we had to wait quite a while between courses and a jug of water had to be asked for twice. Also had to ask twice for the bill. This was disappointing when it arrived. Firstly there were five of us and one had to pay full price when they advertise two for one. Feel that there should be contingencies for groups with odd numbers as happens in other restaurants. Also we were charged for two eggs which were part of the meals according to the menu and one of our party was charged because she asked for french fries instead of chunky chips when waitress asked what she wanted. Overall experience not positive which was a shame.
