Worth the price...Special experience. We had the Chef Special 7piece sashimi and the order of the fish was designed with intention. Amazing. The bolognese was amazing. Best restaurant experience I've ever had View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tei-an:
Tei is one of our favorite restaurants, but our experience on Saturday was disappointing. We opted for the omakase, which turned out to be a mistake. The pacing of the courses was slow and inconsistent. We received a large plate of tempura loaded with potatoes and shrimp, which was unexpected at $100 per person. We didn’t anticipate having fried shrimp and potatoes as part of the meal. Everything else was fine, but n... View all feedback.
The ambience and food was excellent. The food timing of service felt random. One person received their entree 5-10 minutes before anyone else then we had to order/pay for wasabi for sushi..and wait for it.
We weren't as happy as we usually are at Tei An this past Thursday night. We love the food and the service is usually excellent, and very good about getting you out in time for an Arts District event. But this time it was a 10-15 minute wait for our first glass of wine. And a longer than usual wait to get our order taken, even at our seats at the bar. The orders did come in good time, however, and the servers did a good job after the slow start. One other change we weren't happy with is that there was busy music playing too loud; we've always appreciated the serene Zen environment, which the music disrupted.
Excellent service; very professional. The food and sake were very good. We highly recommend it!!
Tei An was good. My wife and I each had the Omakase and it was pretty solid throughout the beef was insanely good but the tempura was a bit bland. Admittedly both my wife and I are a bit spoiled with this type of cuisine after dining at Morimoto's in Philly. Tei An is good, maybe one of the better places in DFW, but it is a long shot from Morimoto's.
Great for pre-performance dining in the Arts District. Staff is helpful and friendly. Food (particularly the sushi and sashimi) is terrific.
