Excellent food expensive excellent environment overall excellent

Still my favorite restaurant in the entire world. Bone-in, dry-aged ribeye was perfection. Crab mac and cheese is divine. The chocolate mousse with homemade marshmallow is huge and rich. The chocolate mousse tart with thick Oreo crust and caramel sauce is decadent. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is perfect. I cannot recommend it enough.

We’re long time customers of Pappas, selecting to dine on our anniversary. Beautiful setting in wine room. My wife had her heart set on the Steakhouse Salad, our perennial favorite. Both came out quite different than what we had expected. When we asked our waiter, he confirmed they had changed the recipe about a month ago. Couple of opinions. First, no mention of the change appeared in the description of the salad on the menu. Odd a restaurant of this caliber would not update the menu for details other than price. Second, if management was on their toes, they would train servers to notify guests of the change occurring over a month ago. This was not a minor modification but a completely different product. Finally, in a restaurant of this stature, recognizing our disappointment, the server should have asked if he could replace the salad with one more to our liking. Summation, poor training and very poor service. It’s a fine place but they completely missed the mark on our anniversary.
