Service was excellent and server was knowledgeable about the menu. They were out of things on the menu and for a Friday was very empty. Service for a nice restaurant was good not too fast and selection was great. Just the food was ok. The tempora asparagus was great but the other food was just ok. Nice oyster though. The restaurant was closed and we had to find another place to dine. Looking inside it appeared to have been closed for some time. I did receive a voice mail at 5:05 pm telling me it was closed for our 6:00 pm reservation. View all feedback.
This honestly hurts to write it because the location is great and the decor is good! This might be the worst experience at a restaurant I've ever had. Our waiter Chris was basically mute and missing. Our meal took over an hour and my friends meal was room temp and poorly flavored scallops. My rolls were fine but with the amount of time they took, it should have been better. The table next to us warned us as soon as we sat down that everything was taking forever. We will not be returning.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. It seemed promising at first, as we had made a reservation and were excited to dine here. However, upon our arrival, they offered us seating that they preferred, instead of accommodating our party of seven. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, they refused to let us sit in an available booth, citing other reservations. I understand the need to honor reservations, but there was absolutely no effort to be accommodating. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of service, especially when you claim to offer a top-notch experience. To make matters worse, not a single manager came out to apologize or assist us in finding a solution. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Excellent service and we were seated right away on a Saturday night! The "3 Amigos" was the perfect-sized fishbowl for our group of four, and the sushi was exceptional. A special thanks to Scott and Paul for their outstanding service.
During the hour and 15 minutes we spent there, every single table at the bar voiced complaints and left – that should have been our red flag! We waited an excessive amount of time just for water and our first cocktails! CiCi, our bartender who also served as our waitress, was clearly overwhelmed. I felt sorry for her; she received absolutely no support from management. CiCi, if you're reading this, please know it wasn't your fault! The male and female "managers" seemed more like bystanders than actual leaders. I ended up informing two other parties about our poor experience, and they chose to leave as we should have done. The management at this establishment is a joke. The owner really should be present to witness the ongoing issues happening here every day. We will not be returning to Hawthorn again.
