What Yvonne King doesn't like about Caribbean Cabana:
First and last visit here. Oxtails ordered with macaroni cheese, cabbage, plantains, rice and peas. THE OXTAILS WERE cooked well but were syrupy SWEET. WHO EATS SWEET MEAT? Macaroni was bland, peas and rice ok, plantains eh! I did not enjoy it at all in fact, I did not eat it. Over $20 thrown away.Food: 2/5 View all feedback.

Entire meal was delicious!Meal included two small drumsticks and two small thighs. Single scoop of rice, cabbage, and chana.
I got there at approximately 1pm, no line no fuss and ordered Curry Chicken, peas and rice, cabbage and carrots and plantains. The plantains were perfect!! BUT the rest of the food was not good at ALL. It tasted old and every time I would bite my rice and peas I would get what had the taste and texture of gristle meat. The chicken was so OVER COOKED that it was almost pureed. The cabbage and carrots tasted as if it was straight from a CAN. Although, I know that not to be true because cabbage doesn't come in a can. BUT if it did this place can say they created the taste. I literally took one bite of the cabbage and was like NO, then 3 bites of the rice and peas from different areas, trying to see if it was ALL of it or maybe just one spot that had the gristle taste and to my dismay it was ALL. And then I ate all 3 of my perfectly cooked plantains. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Cashier 's attitude was horrible. It was like every customer that step to the counter was an inconvenience. I tried to order wings and fish and they had sold out of both. I understood that and he said it was a supply chain issue. So I just ordered a beef patty and plantains. We sat at the table and the guy came and gave me my plantains and said, Here . A customer standing behind me looked and said well he acting like that I 'm not sure if I wanna eat here. I opened my box of plantains and it was a container of eaten wing pieces!!! I guess they realized the mistake and instead of coming to me asking what I had in the container, he yelled from by the window and behind counter asking what was in there. It was just a horrible experience. I usually go there when I 'm at the farmers market but that will be my last time supporting this business.
The curry shrimp was extremely salty. It even made the rice salty. I couldn’t eat more than two so it went to waste. The curry chicken patty was really good thankfully I ate that first.Food: 2/5
Best Caribbean food I've had in a while. Drove out from Shreveport which has no good Caribbean food options. The j chicken, macaroni pie, peas and rice and fried plantains were so good. Only spent $15.Food: 5/5
