What Jimmy Bach doesn't like about Ascension Coffee Design District:
I used to visit here at least once a month before COVID.Visited last Sat at the first time after COVID and it seemed very different now.I loved their vibe and cozy place, but it is not like that anymore. I still see friendly servers, but not sure if I want to visit again.Food were just ok. View all feedback.
I stopped by for breakfast and had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and cheerful. Leah was managing the bar and the expo, and her positive energy created a wonderful atmosphere for the restaurant. The food was excellent, but we’ll definitely return for the great vibes! Kudos to the team!
As for brunch, my husband's lox bagel was the highlight of our meal—delicious! However, my chicken and waffles were disappointing. The chicken was decent, but nothing to write home about, and at least it wasn't dry, unlike the waffle, which was as tough as cardboard. Even the syrup couldn't rescue it. When the staff asked how everything was, we expressed our disappointment, and all we received was a perfunctory “Sorry about that” before being handed a $50 bill—no offer of a discount or comp. It feels like there's a lack of passion in the menu here, with choices based solely on what sells quickly, leaving the emphasis on speed rather than providing quality food and service that customers genuinely desire.
This place was cute and so quaint. We just wanted a small filler before dinner. Our server was so cool and matched the vibes of the place. We got here later in the day so it was calm and right in time for a happy hour drink that they offer! Would stop in here again next time we visit Dallas!
I absolutely love Ascension Coffee! They make the perfect pumpkin spice lattes that aren't overly sweet and taste fantastic. Their brunch menu is also impressive; my favorite dish is their version of Eggs Benedict. The service is always wonderful as well. I highly recommend checking them out for all your coffee cravings!
The food was absolutely delicious, and the total bill was under $50 for one person. It’s quickly become one of my new favorite spots. Our waiter was wonderful—though I can't remember his name, I do recall he’s a Taurus! There’s limited parking available, but we opted for valet service, which was only $10, so it wasn’t a big deal.
