Reviews - Dalling Co.
Reviews summary
Dallings offers a blend of quality food and unique dining experiences, though customer service remains inconsistent. While many patrons rave about the delicious food, including standout dishes like Beef Wellington and delightful wine tastings, others report rude encounters with staff. Ambience is generally pleasant, making it a nice spot for a drink or small gathering; however, issues like delayed billing and cleanliness detract from the experience. Interestingly, positive interactions with certain staff, especially during special occasions, hint at the potential for Dallings to provide an exceptional outing when the right team is present.

Stayed locally for a weekend and stumbled across this place which was friendly and accommodating. The young lady which served us was friendly and very knowledgeable about wine. Great wine, great prices. Wish we lived closer. Meal type: Other Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
What girlvicar dislikes about Dalling Co.:
I visited the restaurant on Friday to pick up some wine and cheese, but I was met with a very rude and abrupt staff member. The lady who served me had a terrible attitude and seemed impatient when I took a bit longer to place my order. I want to note that I had a stroke a few years ago, so it takes me a little longer to remember things. This experience was disappointing, especially since I make an effort to support l... We have been regular customers at Dallings for over two years now, but today's experience means we are unlikely to return. We came in with a toddler and ordered food. Then we waited for around 30 35 minutes, with no sign of the food. During this time, a large group of friends of the owner sat down and the owner started having a long conversation with them. The person just before my wife was served food, so we expected we would be next. We then waited longer and the large group was served ahead of us. The staff behind the counter noticed we were still waiting, and when my wife went to ask why we hadn't had food yet they agreed that it seemed odd that we hadn't been served yet and went to enquire. After a few minutes of enquiring, she came out and told us that the food was being plated and would be out imminently. Five minutes later, still no food by which point the gentleman who ordered just before my wife had long finished and was also asking why we hadn't been fed at all. We can understand prioritising a larger table, but expecting a year and a half old toddler to sit and wait around 40 minutes for a bacon sandwich and no be honest with us on the state of our order is too far. We would love to come back, but this was extremely disappointing and we have never had this treatment at Fred and Ginger. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Challenging Lockdown surprise. I rang Geoff co Proprietor) on the of chance that I could pick up a surprise meal for two? We had organised a picnic in the summer, It was perfect).Geoff passed the phone to Claire, his business partner, she could not have been more helpful. She said select your menu choice. I emailed my wish list including Dessert Apple Tarte TatinWhen I spoke with Claire and agreed the price she offered an appropriate bottle of wine from their stock and a bunch of flowers from a local store. It all arrived on time, excellent service. THANKSWe will definitely use them again.
All excellently planed for covid safety. Booked at table for brunch. The cooked breakfast was beautifully done, with cherry tomatoes, a large taisty mushroom, delicate sausage and sourdough toast. All topped off with a large leaf cup of green tea.
The quality of the food and coffee at this restaurant is satisfactory, however, the staff's behavior is inconsistent. Some are friendly while others are incredibly rude. It's a gamble as to which type of service you'll receive. During a recent visit to grab a coffee, I was rudely greeted by one of the servers.
Love Dalling and really enjoying the extensive range of vegan options. Staff friendly and comical. Service is always great! Highly recommend whatever your food preferences....and an amazing selection of wines and beers for those kinda afternoons or evenings.

With more than an hour to spare while in Kings Langley High Street, I popped into Dalling Deli. I ordered a hot chocolate and asked if they had a gluten free cake. Charlotte behind the counter offered a choice of three. Impressive! I chose the lemon drizzle which was delicious. The hot chocolate, first and last image, speaks for itself. It was past 5.30pm and clearing up time so I took my tray through to the adjoining wine shop/bar. I believe it stays open until 9pm. Several people were drinking wine and there was a relaxed, happy atmosphere. I didn't get the name of the young man behind the bar, but he was courteous and helpful to people who came to buy or sit. Charming staff, lovely ambience and a broad range of great products. Definately worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood. I'll certainly be back.
An exceptional evening thanks to hosts Jeoff and Claire. Wine tasting was great fun and informative, accompanied by delicious food. Highly recommend.
A very pleasant easy going place for a drink and snack or cake. Nice watching the world go by, sitting higher up than the main road going through the village. The only fault is the rubbish under the tables and tables need to be cleared as the customer leaves. Fag butts in the flower pots not cleared for many days or more.
Excellent service, The tea was excellent. Lemon cake my sister had was the best. The staff were told.

I would highly recommend this little place! the wine merchant was very helpful and knowledgeable about all who they had! to the point known that he was not too pushy or overlaid! loves the idea that you can browse and buy what you like when we are weeping. we went away with 2 bottles of red that we cannot wait to try! would really recommend this place! Many thanks for a beautiful evening, we will surely be back!
