Concerned recently however t... read more This is possibly my favorite pub in the Chilterns. Great food at decent prices, beautiful setting a truly traditional country pub!! Concerned recently however to receive a £100 fine for parking in the pub parking when coming for supper (when 2/3 months before when we ate there we were told the parking charges were not in force . When I entered the pub this past weekend at 7 on a Friday night, I was shown past the queue to our table and so did not see any signs asking to insert the number plate. Neither was anything mentioned about it being active. (And I clearly wasn’t going for a hike at 7pm! I will contest the fine and hope that as a paying customer (which I can prove I will have the fine rescinded. I understand the need to keep the parking exclusively for the pub. But trust that this system in place to catch people that are NOT genuine customers of the pub, rather then unsuspecting customers that are.

The turkey was so moist often something which can disappoint. Lovely service, unhurried and we were allowed to take plenty of chatting time between courses. Very reasonably priced. Thank you!!
