Our group of four sample... read more During Custer's Restaurant Week, they had a fantastic three-course meal available for $30, featuring a starter, an entree, and dessert. Our group of four sampled all the options, and each dish was outstanding! It's such a delight to enjoy fine dining in our small town. (Just a note: while OpenTable lists Skogen Kitchen as being in Rapid City, it is actually located in Custer.)

The menu was varied and the specials were amazing. This is a rare gem of and to find it in Custer, SD was a a great surprise. Staff was attentive and very knowledgable of the menu, wine list, and everything else food related. Go, have a meal here, you will not regret it!

If you’re looking for a unique experience in the Black Hills, this is the place to go. We tried the seasonal soup (incredible fall goodness), beef tartare, lamb bolognese, and veal cheek. Everything was made to perfection withquality ingredients. We topped the night off with the butter cake after reading rave reviews, and holy cow, that was one of thebest desserts we’ve ever had. The sweet salty flavors play perfectly with one another, and the textures of ooey gooey cake,popcorn ice cream, and caramel keep your taste buds dancing.

This is fine dining at its best, but the atmosphere isn't pretentious and there's no need to dress fancy. The flavors ofeverything we ordered were outstanding, to include the popcorn ice cream! The waiter was fantastic and very educated on the menuitems. 5 stars well earned!!
