Upon... read more Our family of seven, spanning four generations from Texas, enjoyed dinner at the Purple Pie Place while visiting Custer and exploring the Black Hills area. Upon seeing the array of pie options, my daughter and I decided to share a sandwich and indulge in a slice of pie. We tried the Turkey Panini and found it to be delicious. The rest of our family ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, Mac n Cheese with Bacon, Chili-Cheese Dog, and Chicken Salad Sandwich, all of which were also tasty. However, the real standout was the homemade pies. We savored the Peanut Butter Pie, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, and Strawberry Rhubarb Jalapeno Pie. The Strawberry Rhubarb in particular was absolutely delicious. My daughter couldn't get enough of the Peanut Butter Pie. Our grandsons enjoyed their ice cream in waffle cones, describing it as yummy. We were so impressed with the food that we decided to dine at the Purple Pie Place again on our last night in Custer. Once more, the pies did not disappoint. The server was friendly, and we were pleased to see the same person both nights. The restaurant itself is charming and immaculately clean. We highly recommend dining at the Purple Pie Place!

The pies are so good and especially the chicken pot pie was very delicious. Lots of vegetables and chicken and pieces of crust inside and on top instead of a complete crust. Definitely would recommend. I had a piece of boom berry pie that is strawberry and rhubarb with lots of other berries inside. It was so delicious with ice cream on top.

The chicken pot pie had a non-traditional presentation (it was more like a chicken stew with crust mixed in) but it was delicious. The French Dip sandwich was completely average. We tried both the cherry and peach pies alamode. The pie crust was obviously home made and was very good but the filling for both pies seemed out of a can. The vanillaice cream was neither creamy nor particularly flavorful.

The strawberry rhubarb and peach were great! This place is a great addition the this fun little town.
