Good atmosphere food. Nice tavern-like atmosphere, no loud music or college kids. I had the Guinness pot roast, which was quite tasty. It actually came with proper red potatoes, not the usual mash or fries from a bag. Service was reasonably quick, and if you're into trainspotting, it's next to a rail line.
In a little town called Custer.... Clancy 's is in Custer about four miles east of Stevens Point. It 's a blink-and-miss-it town, just off the freeway but by all means well worth the drive for Clancy 's. I really like the Friday Fish special, baked cod with a crumb topping and red potatoes served as cooked, not held under a warming light for the evening. They have an exceptional bar but they 're not at all pretentious. Expect to wait while your food is cooked. The wait is well worth it, the food and service are just great! Another one for the A list.
