Northern Chinese food, served quickly. They have a pretty large selection of dishes to choose from. You won't go wrong with buns, dumplings, and any of their vegetable choices. The veggie buns are very flavourful. Try odd dishes like egg whites with meat, very yummy. The interior is a bit dated and very very red. But you are likely not here for the ambiance. Shanghai restaurant is one of the better Shanghainese Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area and surprised us with its very good food.

Delicious and authentic Shanghainese restaurant! Will definitely come back for more. I always order their Xiao Long Bao! They also sell frozen dumpling! And I was last there during the Dragonboat Festival. They have the glutinous rice dumpling for the festival too!
The best Shanghai style food on the west coast. Yellow croaker with pine nuts, sautéed eel in brown sauce and braised pork kidney all outstanding.
Pretty solid Shanghainese food. Service was great.
