Dosateria - Cupertino
Dosateria
Description
Located within Whole Foods, this dosa cafe provides a unique blend of Indian flavors and quick service. While the dosas are praised for their light and crispy texture, concerns about saltiness and inconsistent customer service have been noted. The clean and well-organized space is convenient for shoppers, though noisy at times. Signature items like sugarcane juice and lassi have received acclaim, making it a must-try for those visiting. Despite some mixed experiences regarding service and food preparation, many find the dishes delightful and satisfying, establishing it as a popular destination for dosa enthusiasts.

Lorena is truly a force of nature—I've never seen her take a break. Her passion for her work shines through, whether she’s cooking enthusiastically, cleaning with diligence, greeting co-workers with genuine warmth, or brightening a customer's day (like mine) with engaging conversation. The combination of Lorena’s warmth and her staff’s friendliness, along with the quick, delicious food, creates a cozy, familial atmosphere that I haven't found anywhere else in the Bay Area. My sensitive stomach makes dining out challenging for me, but I can enjoy Lorena's dosas without any issues. That’s why, even though I rarely post reviews, I feel it’s important to share my gratitude for the humble yet remarkable Dosateria at Whole Foods. It has become much more than just a casual eatery for me; it’s my favorite part of Cupertino Whole Foods. It feels as safe, comfortable, clean, cheerful, and welcoming as my beloved mom’s kitchen. If you haven’t tried one of Lorena’s dosas yet, I highly encourage you to do so—you won’t be disappointed!
I absolutely love this restaurant! I haven't found a better dosa anywhere in the Bay Area. Even though I've moved away, I still make it a point to stop by for lunch whenever I'm in the South Bay. Both vegetarian dosas are fantastic, and I highly recommend trying either of them (or even the half-and-half option!). The staff is wonderful, and the service is always quick!
I wasn't familiar with dosa, so I decided to give it a try. In the end, it tastes like a burrito with Indian spices. While I wouldn't dismiss it completely, I don't believe it's worth all the hype.
Great food and good service. We go here a lot to have their Paneer dosa which is one of the best I’ve had. Also like the butter chicken dosa and lemon rice with saag paneer. They also make good sugar cane juice which is a little overpriced but tastes authentic with the right balance of ginger and lime. They have a small seating area as well so you can enjoy the dosas hot.
