We found staff at some other restaur... read more We found this superb restaurant on our last day on Ischia and it restored our faith in the service and staff on the island. We found staff at some other restaurants in Forio to be rather cold and dismissing of our attempts to order in our rudimentary Italian (we like to try but only have pochissimo Italiano . I understand that this is predominantly a destination for Italian tourists, but had begun to feel like second class citizens. Ristorante Pietratorcia was the complete opposite, we were made to feel welcome, the staff were helpful in explaining some of the finer points of the dishes we had ordered, in relation to the provenance. There was a clear pride and passion for the food that they prepare and serve, not to mention the superb wines from their own vineyards. My wife and I had a fabulous evening, savoring every mouthful of our meal, the only regret being that we had not found this restaurant earlier in the week, it would certainly have warranted another few visits...there was certainly enough on the menu to keep me coming back, and it was very reasonably priced. If we ever make it back to Ischia, we will be sure to make this place top of our list. A big thank you to the proprietors and staff, Ian Julie
