This charming little spot only has a few seats, but that’s just fine. I decided to take my coffee to go and enjoyed it in the nearby park. The service was fantastic. In contrast, I had a disappointing experience at The Grind in Courtenay, where I was served a latte that was scalding hot. When I asked the barista about it, she explained that this is their usual way of preparing coffee. I wasn't impressed with the service, but I assume it was just that particular person. I needed a second cup to pour my drink into, and both cups were still steaming, so I had to wait quite a while before I could enjoy my coffee, which ended up tasting burnt.
