Lovely patio dining spot at the far end of the pedestrian mall at Helms Bakery District. The prices are very reasonable, everything we tried food wise was tasty, and service was constant. There was more to see inside, but as we wished to sit outside, we didn't linger to check it out. Next time. My tuna melt on fresh baguette was just right with the seasoning and amount of Mayor. What Adrian G doesn't like about La Dijonaise:
Free parking across the pedestrian walkway is almost always full, and the street meters are likewise occupied due to the popularity of nearby restaurants. We checked the hours of operation on Yelp for Monday, and it indicated they were open until 9 PM. We drove all the way from Century City, only to find the restaurant closed at 8 PM. I called the owner, and she mentioned that they don't update their hours on Yelp be... View all feedback.
I went the last week they were open (last week of July). They make (made) the best croissants in Los Angeles. Their almond croissants are huge and amazing to eat if you want sweet, the regular are perfection. Too bad the outdoor seating is so small compared to Father's Office. I feel so bad for the owners, they had a great place and my feeling is Covid-19 and a landlord not working with them made them close. The Asian lady (who may be the owner) who took my to go order was so nice, but her face looked sad. If they can set up a commercial kitchen operation I'll follow them. Good luck!
I am completely happily surprised and satisfied with the Beef Stroganoff I devoured my dish! The beef was absolutely tender and tasty. The potatoes were cooked to perfection with a slight crispyness. What more can I say but to try it yourself! Don't sleep on this place!
This place was very delicious! We stopped in on a Friday night before a movie and the service was excellent, quick, and super friendly. The food was great! I really liked the butter for the bread and I love that they print out their specials on a menu everyday. We were very pleased with our meals! French Onion Soup was unbelievably tasty. My only note would be that the salad wasn't my favorite. It was quite dry and didn't have much flavor, but who knows I'm no salad expert. I will definitely be coming back soon though and I would recommend stopping in!
Went to La Dijonaise for lunch yesterday. I had a Turkey Sandwich. It was $5.99, which was a very good value, as there are many places that charge twice as much for turkey sandwiches that are not as good as the turkey sandwich that I had at La Dijonaise yesterday. Often, at lunchtime, one doesn't have a lot of time, and my sandwich arrives within a few minutes. However, if it was possible to break down Yelp ratings, I would give Five Stars to the staff and the food (which I did) but I would give a negative Five Stars to whoever was responsible for the system that La Dijonaise uses to pay with a credit card. I have never encountered such a convoluted way of paying with a credit card, and most of the staff spends most of the time gathered around the cash registers working through what is apparently the most complex payment system know to Man.
The side salad was very simple, just an added wedge of tomato. Tangy dressing, though. Dear Hubby tried a pate sandwich. Wished it had a bit more of the pate. We shared an apricot tart. Yummy, and glad to have a knife to do the splitting, but also to get through the crust. Washington Blvd. traffic can get loud; it's adjacent. Overall, great place to take a break and fuel up from their extensive menu options.
