Faisan means pheasant so I ordered the pheasant despite the high price of 31 USD. It was unidentifiable as fowl, white meat floating in a sauce of pumpkin seeds. It was edible, but not good. Included was luke warm chicken soup, with rubbery stringy white meat which was awful. My friend ordered venison and complained it was tough like leather. One ordered a baked potato with sour cream and was pleased. The Hamburger plate looked fine. Fried onion rings were scrumptious, the best ever. For a Mexican restaurant the decor was ordinary, all plastic and glass. Very few customers. The bathrooms were clean. Service was good.
If you like or want to try Yucatan’s food while in Cuernavaca, this is the place to go. Although they add their own “touch”, the food served here still has the flavor and originality one looks for. Prices are not cheap but does not cost an arm and a leg. Service is pretty good. Crowded on week ends so suggest to take that into consideration
We had an enjoyable mid week dinner here and had the place to ourselves. There is a small parking lot directly in front of the restaurant that is open and airy with a contemporary water feature in it's center and large dated photos from the Areas in the Yucatán. Other decorations are heads of deer. The staff were attentive and the bathrooms clean and attractive. The food was tasty especially the venison. We finished the meal with delicious vanilla pudding sprinkled with cinnamon and flan.
Long time there, it is still the local’s and visitors choice when looking for Yucateca cuisine in Cuernavaca. Place is big and normally crowded, specially weekends. Dishes are well prepared and flavor is good. Menu has other choices for non Yucateca cuisine lovers.
Thoroughly enjoyable restaurant for people with a taste for the foods of Yucatan. The quality and presentation was delightful and the food tasted great, albeit that I am not acquainted with the foods of Yucatan. The ambience is great and it is a place that should not be missed for regional Mexican food.
