Great food, great views! The food is very well prepared and the personnel are mindful of your needs. I especially enjoyed the oatmeal pancakes!
I was at Casa Hildago on a rainy Monday evening, so the restaurant was not busy. My brother had a steak that was prepared at the table and was wonderful. I had a cold dish of shrimp and cucumbers which was highly spiced and also very good. The service was terrific as it always is in Mexico. And the view of Hernan Cortez's castle and the Jardin is spectacular. Overall, everything was great.
I've been told that this is an excellent spot for a meal but on this occasion it was simply poor. Chicken and pork was very dry and lacked flavour. Prices are high and on par with Canadian, looking at 15-20$ a meal for very small portions. Wait time was long. Waiting staff complained about tip despite not delivering a good service. The bread on the other hand was excellent and purchased some to go. In conclusion a good location and a nice looking place but the food was simply poor. Typical toursit trap, at least on this occasion.
