wow! I'm just sad that I came here for drinks as I had just dinner, but the items we ordered were amazing! the ceviche de camaron (shrimp) en salsa negra was so delicious and spicy! so with intention. the chicharron de pescado (deep fritted fish) with the bohnen and salsa in a taco were the perfect combination! the red salsa was delicious, but not spicy, so I ordered the black sauce from the ceviche on the side and i... What Cornelia Forstner doesn't like about El Pialadero de Guadalajara:
It is a great place to visit if you want to experience eating torta ahogada with gloves. GREAT value as a small torta ahogada fills you up. The corn soup is also very good. View all feedback.
This place is really amazing, and that comes from someone who usually prefers more high-end restaurants. the ambiente felt really nice and eating very traditional. I had the vegetarian (they have some good veggie options) torta ahogada, the amazing - and I am very hard to please! my bf had the barbacoa tacos and said it was also delicious for a simple taco. I am coming back
Definitely the top three Mexican dining experiences I've ever had. No words can describe how tasty the food is. Almost no empty table even though it is kind of in a quiet and subtle area that's rather off tourist track. I noticed it's very popular with locals and people from Guadalajara region.
Marlin and shrimp tacos and ceviches and Guadalajarian specialties. Spicy sauce in aguachile is not for the faint of heart so if you’re not sure ask to serve it on the side. Shrimp taco could of been good but there’s way too much breading on the shrimp
Had 3 Shrimp tacos for a quick lunch. Waiter never checked on me once and it was kinda prices at $3 a taco. Didn't order the birria because it was made from beef.
This place is famous for its "tortas ahogadas" (typical from Jalisco), which means a French-type bread (birote) sandwich filled with pork filet and dipped into a delicious sauce made with chile de arbol, tomato, onion, pepper, etc. It will be served with plastic gloves, so you can hold it without risk of staining your hands and clothes. At El Pialadero de Guadalajara they really drown the tortas in sauce.
