In Short: Anvil Café and Grocer joins the list of impressive cafes that have opened in Crows Nest over the past year. Great coffee with a strong menu. The Ivan was a standout dish. Love the grocery concept as well I have been following the Anvil journey since they set up their first café at Kirribilli Wharf. At the time, I thought it could have been possibly the most beautiful café spot in the whole of Sydney. It was... View all feedback.
We have recently noticed that anvil coffee co has appeared on crows nest and passed by a weekend to check it. it turns out that it is both a caffe and a food business, and the clean lines and scandi chic decor here have already begun to draw in the masses. the menu is quite simple, with a focus on fresh, usually healthy ingredients. from her carefully curated menu we went with her sloved salmon, which was deliciously flocky and served with pieces of avocado, enoki mushrooms and pommes tasty kimchi through the brown rice in the bowl. there was also a boiled egg coated with a Nori powder, although we would prefer a fried egg for extra sauciness.
I love this place! the decor is clean, modern and aesthetically appealing (big for instagram photos). the coffee is great, and I love her little brekky rolling (although they are on the expensive side, I also love her brownies and donuts, but I wish the donuts were on camp more often.
Anvil is a refreshing change to the monotony of the crows nest “Café scene”. a diamond in the rough, they pump good coffee and good eating in a minimalist, modern environment. they love the Arab eggs the yogurt perhaps not everyone's favorite, but the mix of caramelized bevelling, a perfectly fried egg and their seasoned makes for a special meal. coffee is also good.
Part cafe part grocer, this place is all about the good food. they also made the best homemade kombucha ever, but stopped it! wtf! on one of the main roads in crowy this cafe/builder attracts native, visitors, families and singles. everything is very organized, white and new looking. they are on the hey You app, so I usually come to take with you. you are also super packed.
Minimalist decor, bright, open space streamline. Would've been very zen except for the loud pumping music, which was a bit much for breakfast on Saturday. I had the Chard Corn Fritters, which was served with poached eggs, smoked salmons, greens yogurt. The eggs were perfectly oozy, the greens had a clean refreshing dressing, the fritters were moist salmon good. Just not sold on the yogurt and there were lots of it. The coffee was good the staff were friendly, worth coming again, maybe for lunch once I'm more awake for the music...
