The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Henry was a delight to talk to. I've been here a few times, and I will definitely become a regular. Thank you, Henry, for opening such a wonderful little place and for being so kind to our 6-year-old and her friends on her birthday. View all feedback.
What Vanessa R doesn't like about Carnaval:
I created a Yelp account specifically to share my experience at this restaurant, and it was truly disappointing. The food was tasteless and unappetizing, and they didn’t even provide any condiments—what kind of Mexican restaurant doesn’t serve salsa? It’s hard to consider it Mexican cuisine when it’s so lacking in flavor. We already have enough Mexican restaurants in the area, but if we had to have one, this definite... View all feedback.
I came in with my wife not knowing what to expect. When our food arrived, the aroma was incredible. I looked at my Mexican wife, pointed at my plate, and exclaimed, "THIS IS LIKE MOM'S COOKING, NOT THE DISHES YOU MAKE!" She was taken aback, clearly offended by my comment. However, after taking a bite, she nodded in agreement, acknowledging that I was right. Tony's is fine but can't compare in terms of authenticity. HORTENCIAS is a letdown, unfortunately. On the other hand, El Pajaro Azul in Blue Jay comes in second to Carnaval. I've seen some complaints here about poor customer service. As someone who works in customer service myself, I know that we all have our off days, and sometimes customers can be really difficult. But I personally had excellent service, even being checked on by the owner to ensure everything was satisfactory. After living here for two years, I regret waiting so long to try Carnaval. My wife and I are big fans, and our four-month-old stopped crying the moment he smelled the food. We truly love this place! Respectfully, Leo B.
I didn’t take any photos, but they weren’t necessary. Let’s start with the service: the owner, who also serves as the host and cook, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our drinks arrived quickly, and since we are new to the area, he shared some fascinating history about the mountain. Now, about the food—wow! Everything was fresh, made to order, and absolutely delicious, all at a very reasonable price. If you find yourself in the Valley of Enchantment, you definitely need to stop by for a meal!
This place is charming and cozy, and the food is quite tasty. The owner is a great guy who manages everything by himself and always engages in entertaining conversations. He recently started serving breakfast, which is absolutely delicious. I’m actually trying to get a job as a waitress there, as I have over 13 years of experience and I’m bilingual. I highly recommend this restaurant; the food is flavorful, and the prices are reasonable. The owner handles everything on his own. I hope to be working there as a waitress soon!
I'm currently visiting from another city and staying at an Airbnb nearby this restaurant. Our hosts recommended it by leaving us the menu, so we decided to give it a try. Our server, Julia, was AMAZING—so sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive. Despite the restaurant being small and only having two people working at the time, the food was excellent; everything was flavorful and tasted authentic. Even the cocktails were blended to perfection and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great Mexican food!
The employees here are fantastic, providing great service every time. The place is always clean, and the food tastes incredible. What more could you ask for? Don't forget to check out karaoke nights on Thursdays—it's a lot of fun! Come on down!
