Came here on a Saturday night, first time ever coming here and it was like walking into a time capsule, so cool! Our waitress, Melissa was very friendly and accommodating she even gave us a history lesson on the place. Everything we ate was very good, wecan?t wait to come back!

Merichka?s is such a Joliet go to. Food is good and always good service. I personally prefer the Yodel burger over the poor boy. The pork chops are giant so definitely expect to be here a little longer so they can cook it all the way through.

BEST POOR BOY STEAK SANDWITCH IN EXISTANCE!!!! Their poor boys are one of those things that wake you up in the middle of the night. One of those things that you know isnt good for you, but you can't get enough of it. Once you finish it you wonder when will be the next time you get to experience it again. You almost wish you could vomit it back up and re eat it, no lie. It is something that belongs in the hall of the gods, it will forever sit high on the throne of poorboys. You could travel America and never find another gem quite as beautiful as a merichkas poor boy. Their staff is always easy to work with and extremely nice and cooperative. Service is always quick and friendly, take out is always hot and delicious, dining in makes you feel as if you are back at grandma's house. A feeling you can't get most places so that in its own light is extremely special. I am glad my family brought me here as a child and I still come as an adult. One day I will bring my children, LONG LIVE MERICHKAS!!!!!!!!!

I recognize that the Po Boy sandwich holds a special significance for many, but I can't wrap my head around Merichka's charging $10 for it without any sides. Seriously, ten dollars for a McDonald's hamburger patty with cheese on subpar garlic bread? That's the kind of thing I'd expect to pay $3 for in a college town while searching for late-night snacks. For $10, I would anticipate real burger meat, all the classic toppings, and a side of fries.

Love this place, onion rings and those steak sandwiches with the garlic butterine are so good, don't see restaurants like this too much anymore, real good food.
