Go to Lola's! It's a beautiful spot right on Esplanade, with very fresh, delicious food, a lively evening atmosphere and great service. We had the fresh, chilled ajo soup with grapes, which had a subtle nutty flavor and a nice aftertaste, with fresh bread and kitchen-made garlic butter. Go here for the paella. Uncooked rice and mushy broccoli for 30$ garlic mushrooms were ok, Brussels were underdone and both were salty as heck. Complained about the Brussels and got a “yeah that happens”. No sangria, no dessert, held hostage waiting on the check, cocktails were not great. Pretty tho. View all feedback.
Paella folks….this food is nothing short of immaculate!!!
Would never go there again. I don't write reviews often, and negative this negative, but we were so disappointed at the quality and cost of the meal, the poor service and issues with cleanliness of the place — especially considering it was not very busy and it was well staffed. FOOD: Antipasto plate was visually a mess, the lettuce used to line the wooden board was old, the meat and cheese tasted like they had been sliced and left out on a counter for a day. First time and enjoyed the variety of garlic tapas. Wish they had patatas bravas. XL paella was plenty for the five of us after tapas.. with leftover.
No Disrespect meant, just honestly. Nothing in this restaurant was authentic Spanish. It was my only choice in New Orleans Area to attempt to get some, and all I got was disappointment at at cost of 91.00 for 2. Of course, this is my opinion, so take it for what it is. My only experience with Spanish Food is from San Sebastián Spain to Cadiz. Years ago Tio Pepe’s on gulf to bay Blvd in Clearwater Florida, or on Canyon Rd. In Santa Fe, so what would I know.
